Twitter Allows Searches for Tweets Back to 2006

Tuesday Twitter released a major announcement, which will make all micro-blogging lovers go crazy. It consists of a list that contains all tweets published on the site since its creation in 2006.

The list is called the tweet index, which is available for mobile users as well as users who will be signing in on computers, laptops or tablets.

The tweet index can be found in the all tab, which is located close to the search engine.

Twitter published on their blog that even though all tweets were already there, it is the first time that a tweet can be searched straight from the search bar and reveal all of tweets published since 2006.

This advance makes Twitter very proud that they have a full collection of tweets that can be available publicly.

In the post made earlier on their blog, Twitter stated that it is a big accomplishment making available over eight years of very day life experiences, as well as other uncountable events that its users have tweeted on the site.

Users will now be able to search a collection of tweets that dates back weeks or months, all due to the fact each one of has been saved and will be save on the company’s data base.

This news has been received in a number of different ways by users of Twitter. Many are excited to be able to view and enjoy the eight-year history of the micro-blogging site. However, others are very worried about their embarrassing conversations or tweets being seen again by anyone who searches for them.

The announcement of this new feature has brought out critics that both support and are against the move. Although there are users worried about how to filter through 500 billion previous tweets, Twitter owners confirm that it will be very easy and not time consuming, with a complete search only taking minutes.

The tweet index will be a wonderful way to view any tweet and remember the day or the event bringing back many memories for Twitter users.
